Desktop Bell

A bronze bell hangs from a beam in the corner of your screen. It listens to your computer — the hour, your typing, your return — and rings.

Hang the Bell
Try it live
Sweep your cursor through the bell or tug it — the clapper is a real pendulum and rings when it meets the rim.
What it hears
  • The hour
On the hour it swings and rings — once at one o’clock, twelve at twelve — like a small clock tower that lives on your screen.
  • Your typing
Keystrokes rustle the rope; every burst of typing earns a soft ding. Work hard enough and the bell quietly keeps time with you.
  • Your return
Come back after a while and it greets you with two soft rings — a small hello from the corner.
  • Midnight
At the turning of the day it tolls twelve slow, deep rings — if you’re still at your desk at midnight, the bell knows.
  • Your hand
Brush past it, tug it, tap it — swing physics carry the bell while the clapper strikes the rim from inside, each hit a true bell tone.
