Desktop Shadow

A tiny creature lives in the corner of your screen. It doesn’t talk. It doesn’t do anything useful. It just lives here.

Try it live

Move your cursor near it and it watches. Move fast and it startles. Tap it and it squeaks. Leave it alone and it sleeps.

What it does

It just lives
It sleeps with drifting z’s, wanders on quiet hop-steps, flattens into a shadow to hide, and sometimes vanishes entirely for a while — then reappears somewhere else.
It watches you
Its eyes follow your cursor. Come too close and it leans away. Flick the cursor past and it startles. Tap it and it squeaks and squashes flat.
It remembers
It quietly counts how long it has lived on your machine — “it has lived here 12 days”. If you leave it alone too long, it dozes off.
It does nothing useful
No timer, no score, no task. Just the odd comfort of knowing a little creature shares your screen.
