Hourglass

A miniature hourglass runs beside your work — grain by grain through the waist, and when the last grain lands it turns itself over and begins again.

Try it live

Tap the glass to turn it early — or pick a length below and just let it run.

How it runs

Real falling sand
Grains stream through the waist one by one — a golden thread, a growing mound below, a sinking cone above. Tiny taps land with them.
It turns itself over
When the last grain falls, the whole wooden frame slowly rotates — and the stream starts again, forever. It keeps count of its turns.
Four lengths
1, 5, 15 or 30 minutes of sand — pick the rhythm that suits your work, or leave it running like a quiet metronome.
Flip it early
Tap the glass any time and it turns — the same slow wooden slide as when it finishes on its own.
