Pilgrimage

A dark map of twelve sacred places — Tirupati to Kyoto, Kailash to Uluru. Tap a glowing point and your traveler walks there; on arrival you press an inked stamp into your passport.

The journey
  • Twelve sacred stops
Tirupati's seven hills, the ghats of Varanasi, the Golden Temple, Buddha's birthplace at Lumbini, Mt Kailash, a Kyoto torii, Jerusalem, the Vatican, Córdoba's column forest, Angkor Wat, Uluru and Sedona.
  • The walking
Choose a destination and a dotted path draws itself across the map — a small lantern-dot walks it with soft footsteps. The journey is the ritual, not the destination.
  • Each place is drawn
Arrive and the place appears in a night window — the gopuram silhouette, the torii over still water, the column forest of Córdoba, the long red stone of Uluru.
  • A passport of stamps
Press the red seal and it lands in your passport — an oval ink stamp for every place visited. Twelve fills the page.
