Personalized Daily Mantra is a devotional reading — the sacred verse or hymn for the deity or intent asked, with its meaning and its traditional use.
The devotional hymns run from the Vedas through the stotra literature — Sankara's ashtakams, the Alvars' Divya Prabandham, the Chalisa, the Sahasranamas — a two-thousand-year tradition of verse as worship, medicine and instruction.
The verse was traditionally recited at its prescribed time — morning for the suprabhatams, the deity's day for the stotras — with the count and the intention the tradition prescribes.
Ask the deity or intent — the module brings the verse with its translation, its traditional recitation guidance, and the purpose the tradition assigns it.
A devotional hymn of praise — the stotra literature runs from the Vedic suktas through the medieval ashtakams and sahasranamas.
Each carries a traditional time — morning for suprabhatams, the deity's day for the deity's stotras; the app notes it.
The tradition holds both — the meaning guides the mind, the meter and syllables carry the sound's own merit.
